Our mission

OML by AG&F architetti is a start-up, born in 2015 direct branch from the architectural firm, which acts in a parallel and independent structure, with a mission to develop and produce innovative, sustainable and unconventional projects related to the world of cycling.

WIRE BRAKE is the first project made and designed in Italy by OML.

Our mindset

We believe that things, in order to work, should be simple, just like a fixed-gear bike, with minimal maintenance and few essential parts. Following this philosophy, we have developed a braking system consisting of a single tensioned steel cable, assisted by a sliding device. The WB, when pulled or pushed, controls the braking, distributing pressure equally to front and rear brakes in a uniform way similar to the ABS effect, ensuring stability during braking. We applied and tested WB for months under all operating conditions. We tested the technology on our bikes - old and new, fixed and track, racing and city bikes, on both disc and traditional brakes, with one or two brakes, with bullhorn or drop-down handlebars - to test the efficiency and the ease of use.

La nostra filosofia

Pensiamo che le cose per funzionare debbano essere semplici come in una bici a scatto fisso, dove manutenzione ed efficenza con pochi pezzi sono la caratteristica essenziale. Seguendo questa filosofia, abbiamo sviluppato un sistema frenante che consiste in un singolo cavo di acciaio assistito dal nostro prodotto. WB premuto o tirato consente il controllo della frenata ripartendo la pressione in maniera omogenea sui due freni con un comportamento simile al sistema ABS, assicurando stabilità ed efficenza alla frenata. Abbiamo testato per mesi il sistema nelle condizioni più svariate, su bici nuove o vecchie, a scatto fisso o ruota libera, da corsa o da città, con freni tradizionali o a disco, con manubri da corsa o a corna di bue, in tutte queste situazioni il sistema si è rivelato efficente e sicuro.
